KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Miracle are excited to announce the addition of Jamelynn Johnson, a three-time All-American honoree, former professional softball standout, and one of the most decorated players in UNC Pembroke softball history.

Johnson brings an impressive combination of collegiate success, professional experience, and leadership to Knoxville as the Miracle continue assembling a roster built to compete at the highest level.

A native of Kenly, North Carolina, Johnson enjoyed an exceptional collegiate career at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where she established herself as one of the premier offensive players in the Peach Belt Conference.

During her time with the Braves, Johnson became the first player in program history to earn three separate All-American distinctions, receiving two National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American selections and an additional honor from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Her senior season in 2018 was nothing short of remarkable.

Johnson led the Peach Belt Conference with a .435 batting average, a .512 on-base percentage, and five triples. She also recorded 64 hits, 14 doubles, eight home runs, 43 RBIs, and 24 stolen bases while posting an impressive .762 slugging percentage.

Her ability to combine power, speed, and consistency made her one of the most difficult hitters to face in the conference.

Johnson also made history by becoming UNC Pembroke’s all-time leader in doubles, recording her 48th career double during her senior campaign. Her outstanding collegiate career included two Team MVP honors and recognition as UNC Pembroke’s Female Athlete of the Year.

Following her collegiate success, Johnson continued her playing career professionally in the American Softball Association.

During the 2018 professional season, she earned All-Second Team recognition before following that performance with All-Star and All-Defensive Team honors in 2019.

Johnson later transitioned into coaching, joining the University of Montevallo softball staff as an assistant coach and bringing her professional playing experience and knowledge of the game to the next generation of athletes.

“Jamelynn brings an incredible résumé to our organization. She’s a three-time All-American honoree, has competed professionally, and understands what it takes to succeed at a high level. Her experience, leadership, and competitive mentality are exactly what we’re looking for as we continue building the Knoxville Miracle.” Knoxville Miracle Head Coach Craig Snider said.

Johnson’s addition provides the Miracle with an accomplished infielder who has demonstrated the ability to produce offensively, excel defensively, and contribute to a winning culture.

As the Miracle continue building their presence in professional softball, adding athletes with Johnson’s experience and accomplishments remains a major part of the organization’s vision.

Welcome to Knoxville, Jamelynn!
